“Security arrangements for travelers on highways will be improved through effective patrolling,” City Police Officer (CPO) Haider Ashraf said on Sunday.
Talking to the media he said Punjab Highway Patrolling (PHP) police was not able to achieve desired results because of improper mechanism and its implementation. He said a patrolling plan was being devised to make highways safe and secure.
The CPO directed PHP officers to ensure coverage of all sensitive points on highways through patrolling.
The CPO also directed PHP officers to keep their vehicles and other gadgets in working condition so that the patrolling plan could be implemented in letter and spirit.
