KARACHI: Asif Zakir led from the front as he hit an unbeaten century to guide Karachi Dolphins to an emphatic nine-wicket victory over Karachi Zebras in the second semi-final of the National One Day Cup at the National Stadium on Sunday.

The 242-run target was not as easy as the Dolphins’ skipper made it look with a classy 117-run knock from 106 deliveries, aided with 15 boundaries.

Spurred by their captain’s performance, Dolphins reached the target in only 37.1 overs with Fazal Subhan the only wicket to fall.

However, Subhan was also impressive in his 84 runs innings as he played important role in a 189-run opening wicket partnership.

Earlier, after being asked to bat, Zebras compiled 241 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 45 overs with Babar Hussain (79) their top scorer.

Shahzaib Ahmed and Babar Rehman took four and three wickets respectively for the winning side.
