For effective policing and maintaining vigilance against suspects, Islamabad and Rawalpindi police have set up joint pickets at Faizabad and Murree Road in the first phase.
At a meeting held at the Central Police Office Islamabad on Saturday, top police and Rangers agreed that the joint police pickets would be extended to other parts of the twin cities.
AIG (Operations) Islamabad Police Sultan Azam Temuri chaired the meeting.
It was decided that rapid response force of the Pakistan Rangers will also be deployed in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, which will assist the police in case of emergency. It was also decided to devise a joint patrolling mechanism for patrol in both the cities. It was also decided in the meeting that SPs and in-charge of police stations of border areas would conduct a weekly meeting to share information on suspects and wanted criminals.
