Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has constituted two separate committees on austerity and monetisation, stated an official handout issued on Saturday. The committees would formulate recommendations and action plans for enhancing the province’s income, minimising expenditures and promoting austerity at a departmental level. According to the handout, CM Khattak has given a three-month deadline to the committees and directed them to submit their reports immediately. The austerity committee chaired by Minister for Finance Sirajul Haq will recommend measures for improving provincial receipts and reviewing the expenditure patterns of all departments. The monetisation committee will formulate a comprehensive formula for enhancing salary packages of government employees in BPS-1 to BPS-22.
