Pollution: Two factories sealed

The Environment Protection Department seals two factories for polluting the environment.

FAISALABAD: The Environment Protection Department on Thursday sealed two factories for polluting the environment. District Officer Mian Muhammad Nawaz told newsmen that the environment department had received a number of complaints from residents of Satiana Road that some factories that were emitting poisonous smoke and discharging dangerous chemicals. “EPD teams raided the factories and found a cotton factory emitting poisonous smoke and cottons particles.” He said the factory had been sealed immediately. He said another EPD team had raided a factory Khurarianwala and found a factory emitting poisonous gas. He said the EPD team had sealed three boilers of the factory and directed the factory owner to make proper arrangements.
