Four killed in separate incidents in Karachi

KARACHI: At least four people were killed in separate acts of target killings and violence in parts of the metropolis on Tuesday.

Twenty-eight-year-old Mohammad Ashraf, son of Mohammad Siddiq was shot dead when armed men opened fire at him near Saifi College within the limits of North Nazimabad police station. Police officials said that deceased used to run a rickshaw and hailed from Rahim Yar Khan, however, the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained.

A woman identified as Rabia, 40, wife of Bahadur Ali, was shot and killed inside her house situated in slum area of New Muzaffarabad Colony in Quaidabad police remits. Police officials said that the woman was killed by her own son over some family dispute; however, the accused was later escaped after committing the crime. Victim’s body was shifted to Jinnah Postgradaute Medical Centre for autopsy.

In Baldia Town, a man who was later identified as Saeed Jumma, 50, was shot dead by armed men in Baldia Town No 9 within the limits of Saeedabad police station. Police officials said that deceased was going somewhere when unidentified armed men shot and killed him over unexplained reasons while further investigation was underway.

Also in Baldia Town, police found a body wrapped in a clothes piece from Gulshan-e-Ghazi within the limits of Ittehad Town. Deceased has yet to be identified. Police officials said that the motive behind the incident could be ascertained after the identification. Her body was moved to Edhi morgue for Sohrab Goth.
