Double trouble: Two earthquakes jolt K-P

No loss was reported in either of the quakes.

PESHAWAR: Tremors were felt in Peshawar and different parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday evening. The magnitude of the quake was 4.8 on the Richter scale and the epicentre was 28 kilometres north of Murghob in Tajikistan, reported the US Geological Survey. Meanwhile, another earthquake jolted different areas of Shangla, including Besham, Alpuri, Poran and Chakisar. Its magnitude was recorded as 5.1 on the Richter scale, and its epicentre was also reported to be in the central area of Tajikistan, close to the China border. People rushed out of their homes and offices in panic as the earthquake tremors struck. No loss was reported in either of the quakes.
