Earthquake of 5.2-magnitude strikes parts of Balochistan, Sindh

The depth of the earthquake was reported to be at 50 kilometers.

KARACHI: An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale occurred 137 kilometers north west of Karachi on Monday evening, Express News reported.

There were no immediate reports of any damage to life or property.

According to the meteorological department, the earthquake was reported to have taken place at a depth of 50 kilometers.

Three days ago, an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Ricther scale hit parts of upper Sindh and Balochistan.

Earlier in September, an earthquake measuring 7.9 on the richter struck the under developed areas of central Balochistan that flattened the district of Awaran.

As many as 500 people are believed to have died in the September earthquake and subsequent aftershocks. Nearly 120,000 people were made homeless due to the tremblor.
