Four members of a family were killed and six others were seriously injured when a rival group attacked them late Tuesday night in Zohr village, Frontier Region (FR) DI Khan.
A local said around 10 gunmen carried out the attack and managed to get away following the shooting. Villagers expressed frustration over the killings as four members of the same family were slaughtered.
A political administration official said those killed were identified as Ghulam Zad, Nowraz, Eidoo and Imam Zad, while the injured include Shahid Khan, Abdullah, Mehsud Khan and Miraz Khan among others. Following the armed assault, relatives took the injured family members to District Headquarters Hospital.
The administration official explained the accused group had a quarrel with the family some time back, but added the motive behind the killing could not be confirmed as yet. “The political administration is searching for the culprits and will look into the matter,” he added.
Meanwhile, two people were gunned down in a separate incident in Kulachi tehsil of the district, said the police. A police official said the incident occurred in Qasimabad village when Muhammad Farooq and Sifatullah were heading home from Kulachi Bazaar on a motorcycle when they were attacked.
