MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan’s wife Aishwarya Rai has not been active in films for some time, but her husband feels that her fans have not really missed her as the media keeps her in news all the time.

“She (Aishwarya) has always been around. I don’t think you guys (media) will allow anybody to make a comeback. You all cover us so extensively and so well,” Abhishek said.

Known for her performances in films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Guru, Aishwarya was last seen in Guzaarish, which also featured Hrithik Roshan.

The actor said film-maker Prahlad Kakkar has approached him and Aishwarya for a project. “Prahlad has expressed a desire to make a film with both of us. We have not read the script and both of us have to like the script individually,” he said.

Bachchan also says he wants to stick to acting and not switch to directing films, as he believes he is not qualified to don a director’s hat.

Abhishek, who has also tried his hand at production with the 2009 film Paa, might be good with numbers, but says he is not skilled in the art of directing films.

“I don’t know direction. Direction is something, which you have to learn. Besides, I am happy being an actor. I love what I am doing. I don’t think I am qualified to be a director. If I ever decide that I need to direct a film, I will probably go and train myself first in that,” Abhishek said.

He is also trying to enhance his acting skills.”I see my films everyday to learn to improve myself. I make notes and see what I can do to make it better. Today, when I see Bol Bachchan I see clear mistakes. There are so many things today I am equipped to do even better,” said the 37-year-old actor.
