The students had boarded a Sargodha Express train without purchasing tickets and when the inspector, identified as Rana Shabbir, asked them for their tickets they reacted violently, killing him on the spot.
One of the students, Khurram Shehzad, has been taken into custody and Lahore Railway Police has filed a case against all four of them.
The police are searching for the remaining students and an investigation is also underway.

I hope Pakistan Railways does not forget Late Mr. Rana's family and compensates them adequately. Knowing our society, I would not be surprised that his parents, siblings as well as his own family depended on him. Also the families of these four thugs should be made to contribute to a family welfare fund. What a violent society we are!
I've already heard many similar cases of the illiteracy n useless arrogant behavior of sheikupura people. This is not a surprise.
Some years ago, one of my friends almost got killed when he asked his neighbors to lower down their too loud high power speakers placed on their house roof top. They entered his house loaded with guns to kill him but his life got saved because he hid himself somewhere. Such stupid behavior is a part of their culture n so called bogus "ghairat" system.
They are probably affiliated with the Jammat supported student bodies . That gives them the confidence that they can get away with murder.
If you people want to have law and order in Pakistan then you have to put these monsters behind bars for a very very long time.
Is this just a case of ticketless travelling or something else? Hopefully the Railways minister should put the Railways Police on the job too to get to the crux of the matter.
The minister is a hard task master and will do his best to unearth the facts.
so sad! :( where is this rage in our youth coming from? cant we help our youth channel it positively?
