‘Objectionable material’: AJK govt bans Indian author’s book

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government banned a ‘controversial book’ by an Indian author throughout the disputed state.

MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government on Wednesday proscribed a ‘controversial book’ by an Indian author throughout the disputed state.

According to an order of the AJK Home Department, the book “Kashmir and Sindh”, written by Saranjan Das, a Professor of History at the Calcutta University, is being banned as it “contains objectionable material”. The home department has also ordered confiscation of the book.
