ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan athletes Najia Rasool and Adil Shah ended the year among the top 100 players on the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) rankings released this month.

According to the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF), Rasool is ranked 52nd while Shah stood 79th among the athletes from 204 countries. Pakistan’s Asia Batool secured 104th spot, while Arshad Atif is listed in 116th position and Samiya Naz sits on 183rd.

The PTF official said that the athletes can improve their rankings, however the federation needs more funds to send the players abroad. He said that so far the WTF have managed to send the athletes abroad without any financial support and have not received funds from the authorities since last December.
