LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge has dismissed the second pre-arrest bail plea filed by cricketer Wahab Riaz for non-prosecution, after he again failed to turn up for the hearing.

The cricketer is accused of violating Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code and Section 8 of the Marriage Act of 2003 by arranging a late-night wedding party at his Garden Town residence.

Riaz’s first bail plea had also been dismissed when he failed to attend proceedings. He appeared before the judge later the same day, saying he had assumed that the FIR had been quashed. He then filed another bail petition.
