We can’t decide which look of hers we love more!

DAY 1



Outfit

The Lord of the Rings star looked absolutely stunning in this burgundy gown from Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection. The cape is has an interesting silhouette and the cut highlights her slim waist. We love how she kept in time with the traditional values of the Middle East, as the gown looks a lot like a traditional Emirati ‘Jalabiya’.

Accessories and Shoes

Gold everywhere! From that fabulous statement necklace, to her cuff and shoes, Blanchett wore gold like there’s no tomorrow. While the cuff and shoes are darling, the necklace seems to be made of a multitude of coins. We would have preferred a more sophisticated piece, but she pulled it off nonetheless. Empty earlobes are a no-no. Blanchett should have worn at least studs.

Hair and Make-up

The actor opted for a chic, low bob with a middle part, along with minimal make-up. Both were good choices, as Blanchett’s flawless complexion shone through. Keeping her hair down would have taken attention away from her necklace, and she clearly wanted it to be the centre of her look.

DAY 2



Outfit

We absolutely adore this black velvet jumpsuit. The gentle glow of fabric makes it look more like a dress at first glance, but as you run your eyes over it, pants! It’s a brilliant twist, and we also like how it accentuates Blanchett’s slim frame without being suffocating.

Accessories and Shoes

Maybe her necklace on day 1 was really heavy. Blanchett keeps her accessories to a surprising minimum, sporting a bare neck on day 2 of the festival. The actor opted instead for dangly earrings and a watch, along with a bright orange clutch which really popped in contrast to the black of her jumpsuit. Her strappy black heels are a tad boring; we would have loved bright orange pumps to match her gorgeous clutch!

Hair and Make-up

The actor kept her hair down in retro waves, and her make-up was again on the light side. We feel she should have gone for a stronger lip as there isn’t exactly a statement piece in this outfit.
