PPFL: WAPDA hold defending champions KRL

Climb to third place in PPFL with 33 points after 1-1 draw.

Former champions Wapda contained defending champions KRL 1-1 in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) match in Lahore on Saturday.


Both teams played a goalless first half while Wapda took the lead in the 82nd minute of the match with Muhammad Adnan’s goal. However, KRL equalised it when their striker Kaleemullah scored a goal on a penalty-kick in the fourth minute of injury-time.

With the result, Wapda replaced PIA on third place in the table with 33 points after playing 18 matches in the season. They have won eight matches, drawn nine and lost one match so far.

KRL drew their fifth match in the season; they remained on 12th place with 20 points after playing 12 matches. So far they have won five matches and lost two.

Meanwhile, in the Pakistan Football Federation Division B League, Pakistan Railways defeated Ashraf Sugar Mills 1-0 in the departmental leg of the competition.
