Pakistan vs India T20 World Cup 2026: Will rain hit Colombo?
Local forecasts indicate cloudy skies, strong winds, intermittent showers throughout the day

All eyes turn to Colombo this weekend as arch-rivals India and Pakistan meet in a pivotal Group A fixture at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026
The match, scheduled at the R. Premadasa Stadium, carries significant implications for Super 8 qualification, with both sides unbeaten heading into Sunday’s contest.

While anticipation surrounds the on-field battle, attention has also shifted to the weather. Local forecasts indicate cloudy skies, strong winds and intermittent showers throughout the day, Gulf News reported.
Heavy rain is predicted between 1600 (4:00pm) and 1800 (6:00pm) local time, with lighter showers possible during match hours.
According to Gulf News, afternoons, rain is typical in Colombo at this time of year, raising the prospect of disruption. Under tournament playing conditions, a minimum of five overs per side is required to constitute a result using the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method. Should that threshold not be met, the fixture will be abandoned and both teams will be awarded 1 point.
A washout would leave the Group A standings finely balanced and could complicate the race for the Super 8 stage.
