Grey traffic: Illegal int’l gateway exchanges busted

FIA and PTA together busted yet another gang of grey traffickers in Lahore.

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Pakistan Tele­communication Authority (PTA) together busted yet another gang of grey traffickers in Lahore.


The PTA along with the FIA’s National Response Centre for Cyber Crimes conducted a successful raid at Gulshan-e-Lahore Society and recovered two 16-port gateway exchanges, three  eight-port gateway exchanges, three Wi-Tribe internet devices, one laptop, SIM cards of different cellular companies as well as equipment.

Sheikh Aftab Ahmad, who was allegedly running the set-up, disclosed that two other cells of illegal voice termination were also being operated in the vicinity.



When Ahmad gave the tip-off, the joint teams raided the residences of one Khalid Nazir in Tariq Garden and recovered  two 16-port gateway exchanges, one  eight-port gateway exchange, two Wi-Tribe internet devices, two Qubee internet devices, one  laptop, SIMS of different mobile companies and other instruments in operational condition.

The teams raided another location in Gulshan-e-Lahore Society and recovered similar equipment.

Sheikh Aftab Ahmad has been arrested in connection with illegal international gateway exchanges.

Human trafficking? Isn't it illegal voice termination? What does it have to do with human trafficking?
