Found dead: Man wanted for murder killed

Initial investigation revealed the man shot himself in the head with an AK-47.

CHARSADDA: A man accused of killing four women and injuring four others was killed within the jurisdiction of Saro Shah police station in Mardan on Wednesday. Shahr Ayaz, who reportedly had a history of mental illness, earlier shot four family members dead and injured four other relatives in Umaray village, Charsadda. Gohar Khan of the Khan Mahi police station said he was informed of a body found in a sugarcane field. The body was taken to the hospital for identification. He added Ayaz’s father, Jafar Shah, told the police his son had committed suicide in the field. Initial investigation revealed the man shot himself in the head with an AK-47. The body was taken to District Headquarters Hospital Mardan for an autopsy. A case was filed by the police.
