‘Honour’ killing: Man murdered by relatives

A case has been registered against the suspects and an investigation is underway, says police.

BAHAWALPUR: A man was killed allegedly by his relatives for honour in Rahim Yar Khan on Wednesday.

Police said the deceased, Kamal Khan, 40, a resident of Rojhan, had allegedly been stabbed by Rahim Bakhsh, his sons Baga, Moosa, Rafiq and two other accomplices. Police said Khan’s brother, Lal Bakhsh, had registered a complaint stating that Kamal Khan had gone to Ali Yar’s house in Chak 22NP on Wednesday to collect Rs40,000 that he had lent to them. Bakhsh said later that night, Khan was stabbed by his relatives when they accused him of having illicit relations with their mother. Police said Khan died on the spot. The men fled the scene. Police said the body of the deceased had been sent to a hospital for post-mortem. A case had been registered against the suspects and an investigation was underway, police added.
