In compliance: Warid implements biometric verification system

The newly implemented verification system will require customers to provide their fingerprints for authentication against their CNIC.

Warid Telecom, in accordance with the regulations of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), has successfully implemented the Biometric Verification System at its business centers and franchises all over Pakistan. The newly implemented verification system will require customers to provide their fingerprints for authentication against their Computerised National Identity Card Number (CNIC). After verification of the authenticity of the CNIC holder, the SIM will be activated against the customer’s name.


The complete verification process will take 15 seconds. Muhammad Amjad, regional head of the Franchise and Distribution department, said, “Warid Telecom considers implementation of policies and regulations of national benefit as a top priority, especially in the wake of the security situation of our country.
