Young Rising Star WFC defeat WAPDA 1-0

KARACHI: The last round of the Pakistan Football Federation (PPF) Women Championship kicked-off on Wednesday, as the defending champions Young Rising Star WFC and Islamabad booked their place in the semi-final of the competition.

Young Rising Star WFC defeated Wapda 1-0. Both teams remained goalless in full-time, while Sehar Zaman scored the winner in the ninth minute of extra-time.

In the second quarter-final of the day, Islamabad thrashed Diya WFC 3-0. Iman Ansari scored the opening goal in the 17th minute while Abiha Haider doubled the lead in the 44th minute and later sealed the victory in the 66th minute of the match.

The national championship featured 11 teams in the first round in four groups.
