Dirty business: Hotels fined over bad food, sanitation

City administration has intensified its on-going drive against adulterated food and spurious drugs.

ISLAMABAD: On the directions of Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Mujahid Sher Dil, the city administration has intensified its on-going drive against adulterated food and spurious drugs.  In this regard, Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) Nouman Yousaf, along with other officials, conducted surprise inspections of food outlets in the secretariat area on Club Road and fined several outlets for violating food and sanitation laws. The officials inspected several hotels, including Embassy Lodge, Regency, Ramada, Dream Land and Capital Lodge. Yousaf directed owners of the hotels to improve sanitary conditions of the kitchens and ensure compliance of hygienic rules failing which stern action would be taken against them.
