Inflation: Index down 0.89% during week

During the week, average prices of seven items registered a decrease while those of 21 items recorded an increase.

ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended November 28 has registered a decline of 0.89% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI reading stood at 207.58 points against 209.44 points recorded in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group fell by 0.54% during the week under review, standing at 215.14 points against 216.31 points in the previous week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for the combined group rose 14.91%. During the week, average prices of seven items registered a decrease while those of 21 items recorded an increase. Prices of the remaining 25 items remained unchanged.
