Price control: ‘Overcharging not tolerable’

The commissioner directed that price tags should be placed on all items.

FAISALABAD: Divisional Commissioner Sardar Akram Javed on Wednesday directed the price control magistrates to review the retail and wholesale prices of essential goods in markets daily. Inspecting the prices of goods and edibles at Saddar-Jhang Road, Javed said strict action would be taken against shopkeepers found overcharging. He said measures should be taken to stabilise the prices of essential commodities to provide economic relief to consumers. The commissioner inspected various stalls at the fruit and vegetables market and directed that price tags should be placed on all items. Assistant Commissioner General Mahr Shafqatullah Mushtaq was also present on the occasion.
