Corruption: Patwari jailed for accepting bribe

Judge also fined the patwari Rs2 million.

BAHAWALPUR: An anti corruption court on Tuesday imprisoned a patwari for seven years on charge of accepting bribe for allotment of land in Cholistan. Special Judge Shafiqur Rehman found Muhammad Bakhsh Abbasi guilty of the charge. He also fined the patwari Rs2 million. According to the prosecution, the patwari had taken Rs2.2 million from Muhammad Ajmal for allotting a land to his name. The partwari was sent to the Central Jail.
