MINGORA:

In order to facilitate postgraduate students in sharing knowledge and conducting research, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between the Post Graduate Jahanzeb College and Swat Institute of Nuclear Medicines Oncology Radiotherapy (SINOR) on Saturday.

The MOU was signed in a ceremony held at Wadudia Hall, Saidu Sharif and was attended by a large number of students, teachers and members of the civil society.

The move will not only benefit students in their studies but will also help them gain professional experience. “Such practical facilities will enable students to enhance their professional skills to a greater extent. I hope they will fully avail the opportunity during their education,” said Jahanzeb College Principal Professor Zahir Shah.

According to science teachers at the college, students will be able to use modern equipment and machines in SINOR. Previously they would have had to travel great distances to access similar technology.

“All machinery and the high tech lab in SINOR will be available for students anytime after the signing of the MOU. This will ideally promote their sense of research,” explained SINOR Director Dr Shakeel.

“At least we will now have access to modern labs unlike before,” said Samiullah, a student of MSc Physics.
