LHC benches: Lawyers plan Nov 26 sit-in at Supreme Court

At least 500 lawyers from each divisions would participate in the protest.

District bar associations (DBAs) of five divisions- Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Gujranwala and Sargodha- have decided to stage a sit-in in front of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Islamabad on November 26 to press their demand for Lahore High Court benches in their divisions, Faisalabad Bar Association president Mian Javaid Iqbal said on Friday.


He was presiding over a meeting of representatives of the five bars.

Iqbal said at least 500 lawyers from each divisions would participate in the protest. It would continue till their demands were met, he added. The Sargodha Bar Association president and secretary, the Gujranwala bar president and secretary, the Sahiwal bar president and secretary, the Dera Ghazi Khan bar president and secretary, and the Faisalabad bar secretary were also present.
