KARACHI:

A delegation comprising four ex-ambassadors and eight businessmen visited Karachi to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Korea and Pakistan.

The delegation, led by Friendship Association chairperson Oh Jay-hee, visited Quaid’s mausoleum on Sunday and paid homage to the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. The delegation also visited Jinnah House museum, where they were able to get an insight into his activities and the pre-independence history of Pakistan.

The delegation met Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah on Monday and discussed ways to increase bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Chairperson Oh informed Shah that Korean businessmen are interested in investing in Pakistan. However, Oh, who was the first Korean ambassador to Pakistan, stated that the law and order situation in the country must improve in order to attract investors. Shah welcomed the announcement, stating that Korean companies should look to invest in projects such as the Wind Energy Power Project and Thar coal mining.
