Ahmed, who was serving the federation as a lower staff, passed away at the PTF complex where he was serving, leaving officials and players in shock.
The impact of his death was even felt by the India coach Bribal Wadhera in Chandigarh.
“Broken to hear the sad departure of my old friend from the PTF, Zamir, who is no more,” Wadhera wrote a message on a social networking website. “Though his designation was the lowest in the PTF Complex, his work was highly admired and honored by all big personalities.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan top player Aqeel Khan said that Ahmed will be missed by everyone.
“I met him when was 14, and he knows every player that we have,” Aqeel told The Express Tribune. “He would take care of everything, from the courts to helping the players in the visa.”
