Planning ahead: ANF devise future plan to counter drugs in Karachi

A meeting of the inter-agency task force was held at the regional directorate of the Anti-Narcotics Force in Karachi.

Keeping in mind the Supreme Court instructions, a meeting of the inter-agency task force was held at the regional directorate of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in Karachi on Tuesday.


The meeting, chaired by ANF Sindh force commander Brigadier Mohammad Abuzar, was held to discuss a modified strategy to counter the prevailing drug situation in the city. Representatives of Rangers, Pakistan Coast Guard and others were present. “Participants discussed the present scenario of drug trafficking and the current law and order situation along with the achievements of the anti-narcotic operation Umeed-e-Nau and planned for a future strategy to the operation,” said an ANF spokesperson.

Brigadier Abuzar informed The Express Tribune that during Umeed-e-Nau, ANF have seized a huge cache of drugs and the operation will continue till Karachi and the rest of Sindh is free of drugs.
