Temperature change: Cold weather brings flu

ISLAMABAD: A large number of people including children have been coming to public hospitals with the flu over the last 24 hours. Dr Irum said that patients with cough, flu, sore throat and pneumonia complications are visiting the hospital every day. She advised people to wear warm clothes to avoid being caught by the airborne virus. “I also advise people against using heaters to keep houses warm.” Dr Muneeb Ahmed, a physician running his clinic in Islamabad, said that most of the patients visiting his clinic were from the slum areas.
