
Operations DIG Rana Abdul Jabbar on Monday said 80 members of 31 gangs were arrested in October.
He said 76 cases had been traced to them and Rs2.2 million in stolen items were recovered.
He said 1,305 proclaimed offenders and court absconders were arrested in the same period.
Jabbar said 327 cases were registered against 328 people for possession of illegal weapons. He said the police seized a Kalashnikov rifle, 23 guns, 280 revolvers and pistol, eight daggers and 1,619 bullets from them.
He said 465 cases were registered and 960 suspected dealers were arrested in the police crackdown.
Jabbar said 13kg heroine, 93kg hashish, 5kg marijuana and 5,780 bottles of liquor were recovered from them.
He said 123 cases were registered against gamblers and 592 suspects were arrested. He said Rs300,000 was seized from the gamblers.
