IIUI has a busy week

Amid announcements and achievements, the current week has been extraordinarily busy for both the students and administration of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), according to a press release.


Funds announcement for transport, security offices

The president of the varsity Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh separately announced $5,000 each for the transport and security offices while directing them to hire more drivers and construct a new mess for the security staff respectively.

The announcement was made during the president’s surprise visits to the offices and the site for a new cafeteria for teachers.

He was accompanied by AF&P Director General Gulzar Ahmed Khwaja, Administration Director Khalid Mehmood Raja and P&P Acting Director Amir Ishtiaq.

The security office bearers briefed Al-Darweesh on the job nature and problems of the section staff after which he promised the prioritisation of issuance of overtime of the staff and asked the concerned authorities to build rooms for the stay of drivers and provide them with blankets during the winter.

The Islamic Research Institute (IRI) issued a special edition of its bilingual newsletter Akhbar-e-Tahqeeq for 2013 carrying news items about the research-oriented activities at the institute.

Female students shine

In the EME Olympiad 2013 organised by College of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering Rawalpindi, female students of IIUI brought laurels to the institution by clinching top positions in volleyball and wall climbing, and third position in the basketball competition.

The University has been really busy. Several months ago I asked them to exempt me from Surah test (ungraded) so as to enable me to get the degree I earned many years ago. They never bothered to reply to my request. Real busy they must have been all along.
