Local Elections: PTI issue eight demands

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday issued eight demands for the local government elections.


PTI Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhary said the local government elections should be held on January 30 and should not be postponed.

They said the candidates should be allowed to appeal against delimitations of union councils.  They said regulations for local government elections should be shared with all stakeholders.

They said nomination forms should be printed in Urdu and not English. They said ballot papers should not be printed by any private printing press and that  magnetic ink should be used.

They said polling should be supervised by the judiciary. They said local administrations should not be involved.

They said development funds at the discretion of MNAs and MPAs should be suspended.They said results of the local government elections should be announced the same day to prevent changing of results.
