Muharram security: 141 processions to be held

FAISALABAD: As many as 141 mourning processions and 21 gatherings will be held on Friday (today) in the district. A police spokesman said 19 mourning processions had been declared most sensitive and 24 sensitive. He said two gatherings had also been declared most sensitive and five sensitive. He said 7,800 security officials will perform duty. Of these, 24 were gazetted officers, 89 inspectors, 295 SIs, 631 ASIs and 6800 head constables. He said 25 platoons of the Punjab Constabulary, 20 reserve forces of the Punjab Road Transport Corporation, 20 teams of the Elite Force, and more than 3,500 volunteers will also perform duty.
