Safety measures: Security to remain tight today

The main Zuljinnah procession will reach Karbala Gamay Shah on Friday evening.

Security staff is to remain on high alert on Friday (today). The main Ashura procession left Nisar Haveli late on Thursday night.


The ban on pillion riding will continue and mobile phone services will remain suspended. Snipers have been stationed at rooftops along the procession route from Nisar Haveli to Karbala Gamay Shah.

The main Zuljinnah procession will reach Karbala Gamay Shah on Friday evening. Several processions will join it along the way.

Senior police officials, including CCPO Shafique Gujjar will patrol the main route of the processions.

Barbed wire and containers have been placed at several intersections to cut off the procession route from adjoining streets.

The main procession will conclude at Karbala Gamay Shah.
