
Rahim’s ton, which came in just 100 balls, included 16 boundaries and four sixes as the team posted a daunting total of 356 for five in their 45 overs. Imad Wasim (82) and Asadullah Sumeri (47) also chipped in with important knocks to provide support to Rahim. Aslam Sattar took two wickets for 66 runs.
In reply, Hawks were all out for 253 in 37.3 overs as Wasim (three for 26) and Kamran Hussain (two for 57) did the majority of the damage. Haris Khan scored 52 while Faisal Athar added 53 to the tally, but it was not enough as Hyderabad lost the match by 103 runs.
Meanwhile, the Lahore Lions won by a small margin of nine runs against Multan Tigers in the other Group II match at the LCCA Ground in Lahore.
Set a target of 168, the Tigers were bowled out for a mere 159 in 43 overs as Mohammad Irfan took four wickets for 12 runs while Mustafa Iqbal bagged three for 35.
Ghulam leads Abbottabad to four-wicket win
In the Group I match, Kamran Ghulam played an unbeaten 63 to help Abbottabad Falcons win the match by four wickets against Sialkot Stallions at the Abbottabad Stadium.
Batting first, the Stallions posted a target on 219 as Naveed Sarwar played an unbeaten knock of 72 in 97 balls, which included five strikes to the fence. Azizur Rehman and Shakeel Shah took three wickets apiece.
Ghulam’s innings included 10 boundaries, while the other batsmen – Mohammad Naeem (37), Waqas Orakzai (30), Mohammad Ali (25) – also chipped in, as the team reached the target in 44 overs.
