Ict sector: Minister welcomes foreign investment

COLOMBO: The Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rahman Ahmed Khan, said that the government placed the highest priority to the development of information and communications technology infrastructure and effective employment generation methods. Khan was attending the Commonwealth Business Forum programme “Partnership Roundtable: Digital Growth and ICT” in Colombo and was accompanied by an eight-member delegation representing Pakistan’s IT sector. The roundtable was chaired by Professor Tissa Vitharana, Minister of Science and Technology of Sri Lanka. Addressing the meeting, Khan highlighted the investment friendly policies of the Pakistani government and the immense opportunities available in the IT and telecom sector. Khan said that Pakistan maintained an elaborate telecom network providing voice and data services throughout the country.
