Round-up: Red carpet Girl Power

As always, 16-year-old Malala wore her Pakistani pride on her sleeve in this simple shalwar kameez.

Lady Gaga (L), Malala Yousufzai (C), and Hilary Clinton (R).

Glamour’s 2013 Women of the Year Awards saw this year’s trailblazers in their fashionable best. These powerful women brought their signature style statements to Glamour’s red carpet celebration in New York.

Here’s the break down:

Rita Ora

The singer is not really known for her fashion choices, and she didn’t make an exception with this ice-princess-meets-punk-artiste look. Apart from at the hemline, the sheer net frill looks completely out of place everywhere else on this Marchesa gown. However, we give her points for the hair-do and those gorgeous intense eyes.

Hayden Panettiere

Multi-talented Hayden sported a perfect balance of fun, flirty and edgy. Conforming to the B&W trend for this season, Hayden paired her fit-and-flare Black Halo Eve dress with a structured, tux-style black blazer. Her make-up complements her outfit well, and the black ankle boots add the right amount of funk to her look.

Malala Yousafzai

As always, 16-year-old Malala wore her Pakistani pride on her sleeve in this simple shalwar kameez. The recipient of an award stole the show in a bright orange three-piece with a black printed border. These basic teal peep toes tell us comfort comes first for the teenage activist. Two thumbs up for being the most confident young woman we know!

Hilary Clinton

Former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton looked sophisticated and serious in a brown tweed overcoat with midnight blue lace detail. She paired it with black dress pants and what appears to be a t-shirt. We have seen her look way better in A-line skirts and form-fitting dresses.

America Ferrera

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera looked nothing like her alter ego at the event. The actor radiated chic charm in a form-fitted LBD and a pair of nude peep-toes. Her loose waves and make-up were effortless.

Lady Gaga

The Applause singer Lady Gaga probably mistook the awards night as a Halloween bash by dressing up as a zombie queen. Although she is famous for bringing the bizarre factor to the red carpet, she could have dressed better on award night.

Rose Byrne

Rose Byrne was blooming in a champagne red Jonathan Saunders dress. Pairing a lovely red with an edgy leopard print, the dress is surely a fashion statement on its own. Her ombre hair, styled in loose curls, and subtle make-up stand out.

I am not a malalaa hater but I think she should finish her own studies first . What business does she have on a red carpet . She should be out on the streets education people . She is getting too much glamorized for her own good. Time for her to focus on her goals.
