The Supreme Court last conducted a hearing on the organisation of LG elections in the country on November 5, when it directed all other provinces to ensure elections are held on schedule while ordaining the K-P government, which was yet to decide a date then, to submit a date and a report on the polls within seven days.
On Tuesday, the K-P government submitted its report but without a date.
Earlier on Tuesday, Supreme Court rejected the petition filed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) seeking a two- to three-month delay in the deadline for local bodies elections.
The report, submitted by Advocate General Latif Yousufzai to the Registrar's Office at the apex court, says that the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa government has completed the local government legislation and is working to enable the organisation of polls as soon as possible.
The report requests the Election Commission of Pakistan to introduce Biometric Systems for polling.
It says an important meeting for the delimitation of constituencies and arrangement of polls will be held on November 18.

LOL it is amusing to see how the trolls seem to bring in some kind of taliban reference in every KP/PTI news. Call me crazy but wouldn't it be better if the LG elections are done right instead just done for the sake of it. I must be loosing my mind.

Everyone else is using Zia era's LB draft whereas PTI has created theirs from scratch. I agree, they couldn't do it in 90 days but if they had Zia LB draft, they would've done it easily. I am a resident of KP and I rather that PTI take long and make it good then just do them for "just because".
Where was CJ when they weren't held in whole tenure in last 5 years? Now he can't even wait 6 months.
Also, Biometric system has been ready and now being approved by ECP as per my sources which will legitimize the elections. There are 4000 village councils being constructed and there are many more preparations as KP govt is taking it to the grass root level. You will see the results.

PTI does not want to have shame polling exercise like what happened in 11th May and going to repeat again in other provinces. Introducing Biometric systems for polling, first in the history of Pakistan's election history, will be a real deal breaker between true democracy and shame democracy.
