Agriculture: Diplomats discuss future direction

PAC gave a presentation on the challenges and opportunities in the agriculture and food sector.

ISLAMABAD: A group of Islamabad-based diplomats, development experts, officials of UN organisations and others met with representatives of the newly-formed Pakistan Agriculture Council (PAC) at the Canadian high commissioner’s residence recently to discuss future direction of agriculture in Pakistan. PAC gave a presentation on the challenges and opportunities in the agriculture and food sector and led a discussion on “how business can transform Pakistan’s agriculture”. The delegates encouraged the council to provide ideas and support the provincial and federal governments in the development of policies and reforms to help create a more competitive, efficient and sustainable agriculture sector.
