Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak announced on Sunday his party would honour its promise of getting the Hazara province resolution passed from the provincial assembly during the next session.
Speaking at a public meeting in Namli Mera village in Nathiagali, Khattak said his party had promised to carve out a new province and the time had come for PTI to honour its word.
“We are not bothered by any pressure we face from the federal government in the matter. We will adopt this resolution and send it to the national assembly for further approval.” According to Khattak, some senior federal government functionaries asked him to avoid tabling the resolution as it is likely to create problems for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz-led government in the centre.

The British Raj might have ceased to exist over six decades ago but their system of depriving people of their rights is still intact, claimed the CM.
“Pakistan’s destiny cannot be changed unless our people are given justice and their basic rights,” said Khattak, expressing PTI’s resolve to bring about real changes in the system.
Promises of systemic change
Khattak maintained his government has introduced reforms in police, revenue, health and education systems. Warning police personnel of legal action, he urged people to lodge a complaint or directly inform his office if law enforcement officials violate orders or misuse power.

In line with PTI’s manifesto, the government will introduce a uniform education system in the province. CM Khattak said the English language would be adopted as the medium of instruction in all government schools to put at them at par with students of private institutions. Around 15,000 vacant posts are being filled with teachers from the respective areas, he shared.
Under the new education policy, the CM promised a teacher will not have to teach a class of over forty students and staff would only get merit-based promotions.
Touching on the suspension of development schemes in the province, Khattak shared construction work on these projects would resume soon as the process of hiring consultants – a move meant to target corruption – is near completion.
In accordance with the vision of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, tourism is being prioritised and roads are being improved in the Galiyat.
Khattak announced the reconstruction of Namli Maira Road, the conversion of Murree Road to a double carriageway and the construction of two degree colleges in Galiyat.
