The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) has claimed to have arrested a four-member gang allegedly involved in a murder and a string of robberies.


The CIA team also recovered three pistols from their possession after arresting them on Friday.


According to the police, a special team had been constituted to take note of robbery incidents in areas that fall in the jurisdiction of the Shahzad Town and Koral police stations.


The team succeeded in arresting four suspects identified as Naseer, Abdul Hameed, Gul Mirza and Ejaz Khan, according to the police. All the suspects were residents of Islamabad.


The police said one of the suspects allegedly killed a person named Qasim Khan on September 30, 2012 in the limits of the Shahzad Town Police Station during a robbery.


According to the police, the gang members have confessed to committing robberies at houses in the Koral, Shahzad Town and Bhara Kahu areas. Further investigation is underway.
