The entire nation will stand with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif shows resolve in striking the drones down, said Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Friday.
While addressing a public rally organised at Baitul Mukarram mosque at University Road against US drone attacks, he said, “The US must be held to account for drone attacks in Pakistan.”
Rehman further said that his party is supporting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) decision to stop the Nato supply lines, which has been announced by its chief Imran Khan.
“There were no suicide bombings or any acts of terrorism against the military or civilian establishments prior to the Pakistani government’s U-turn on Afghani Taliban after September 2001,” he alleged.
A consensus has been reached between the leaders of JI and PTI to make joint efforts to contest the upcoming local bodies polls across the province, particularly in Karachi.
