The actor will be seen in a lead role opposite Sonam Kapoor in the Hindi re-make of 1980s Hrishikesh Mukherjee film Khubsoorat.
The film tells the breezy tale of an extrovert – a feisty girl (played by Sonam) who brings about changes in the regimented atmosphere of a household controlled firmly by its overbearing matriarch, according to apunkachoice.com.
While Sonam plays the motor-mouth, Fawad will expectedly play the bachelor who falls for her. We cannot wait to see the on-screen chemistry between these absolutely gorgeous people!
Rumour has it that Alia Bhatt was chosen to play the female lead but has now been replaced by Sonam, according to Oye! Times.
The shooting of Khubsoorat has already begun in Rajasthan. The film is being directed by Shashanka Ghosh and produced by Sonam’s father Anil Kapoor.

Well said patriotic pakistani :-)
Waiting for diz movie
Alia Bhatt was never in contention for the role. The movie is being produced by Sonam's sister, Rhea not Anil. They bought the remake rights just so that the movie could be another vehicle for Sonam.
Beginning of demise of Fawad's career ! Sigh
@GhostRider: Ever wonder why the not so classy Indian movies are watched from Indonesia to Afghanistan to Egypt to UAE not to mention Russia and Japan and Thailand and the oh so classy Pakistani movies have a challenge even recovering their production costs even in Pakistan? (yes Waar comes in the category of movies that are unlikely to break even).
Looks like ET is publishing mere gossip content. Fawad had already made it clear in his last tweet that he is not doing any such movie

@Hafiz:
Ask your own producers not to pick anyone or anything from Pakistan then......and do some demonstrations etc...in order to force them in reversing their decisions. I personally watch Indian shows and movies too since I don't believe in bringing political anger into entertainment.
And as someone said earlier, Mahnoor Baloch and few Pakistani actors made it into Hollywood too, so I guess either Hollywood people are fool enough to hire terrorists or Bollywood and Times Of India are not the exact reality or what the world thinks about Pakistani society.
Fawad khan is great actor, he movie will do good business in Pakistan.
@Aannoonn: Dislike. I wish fawad wound reject the offer."
It is time Pakistanis should start protesting outside movie theatres.
It would have been better if he did a Hollywood film instead. Bollywood films aren't that good. Same musicals and same stories with Americans dancing in the background. Its so annoying and that's why some Pakistani actors who went to Bollywood didn't make it big.
apunkachoice.com and oye!times :D
@Hafiz: Indians should also distance themselves from Pakistani newspapers like the Express Tribune.
terrorists must not get any chance in bollywood.pakistanis plz distance from bollywood.
@LH:
hahaa
Why do we let India take all of our Pakistani stars? Musicians, actors everyone!
@Sana you are absolutely right!!. Pakistani's are the most hypocrites in the world.
anil has the reputation of being a flop producer! sonam's last chick flick was aisha (based on austen's emma, and so was clueless with alicia silverstone) produced by him, which was pathetic! as for the remake of khubsoorat another lame repeat from which rekha has distanced herself! fawad should go for originality and material of substance. looking back rakesh roshan opposite rekha in the original was totally eclipsed by her!
@LalaKiMaaKaa: Indian friends should check facts before making negative comments about Pakistan. My friend, Pakistani acting stalwarts like Talat Hussain and Zia Moheyeddin have already ventured into Hollywood movies. Recently, Mahnoor Baloch's movie TORN has gained appreciation. Pakistani actors like Ali Zafar have made their mark in Bollywood. So Fawad Khan's foraying into the Bollywood industry is not something new for Pakistan. We here at Pakistan wish Fawad Khan all the best is his endeavors.
@Sana: stop being all jealous....where is the hypocracy when he says himself in the article that you have quoted: When asked if he would consider venturing into Bollywood, he patriotically responds, “If there is something that I feel I can do justice to I shall take it on but, honestly, my priority is my country.”
Did you not read the first part and just the second??
Comeon guys...relax...be happy for him, whats all the negativitiy about.
lets donate some class to India...fawad!! do your job well son
@LalakimarKa For your information Pakistani stars have gone international Manhoor Baloch created quite a buzz after her film TORN was released last month in the US. There is talk that many independent film makers were enthralled by her performance. This weekend the film Good Morning Karachi is opening the South Asian Independent Film festival in San Francisco will show Amna Ilyas in her second film released in the US. Pakistanis living abroad support& celebrate this new genre of films coming from Pakistan but speaking to the produced of JOSH the support from locals in Pakistan is tepid, always critiquing with harsh negative reviews.
What a Hypocrite Fawad Khan is

i fail to understand why our national heroes whether from sports or film r dying to go to india for few rupees.i can bet this film be a big flop and a super hero will be doomed and we in Pakistan will hear and read sarcastic views of indians.
This is not yet confirmed!
pathetic sellouts! we will do anything for money...shame on fawad
Biggest sell out ever.
He looks like Ashmit Patel
In few days this conspiracy theory will be down under the earth..how can lollywood actor go international.......although..musalman and maula jatt were international films depicting true culture of pakistan....
Dislike. I wish fawad would reject the offer.
