LB polls: Electoral process kicks off in Balochistan

Candidates collected nomination papers from the Provincial Election Commissioner’s office on Wednesday for the local body election of Balochistan, which is likely to take place on December 7, 2013.


Polling will be held over 7,189 seats across the province. Deputy commissioner, assistant commissioner city, assistant commissioner Sadder, additional commissioner revenue and district education officer have been appointed as returning officers in Quetta.


Similarly, the district administration officers will be responsible for holding elections in their respective constituencies.


Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan Syed Sultan Bayazid said candidates have started collecting nomination papers, which will be submitted on November 7 and 8. He told The Express Tribune that all the commissioners and deputy commissioners have so far assured that elections will be conducted on time.


Election office will receive objections on nomination papers till Nov 9, which will be scrutinised on Nov 10-11.
