Valima meal: Caterer sued for late delivery

New Pak Caterers and Party Decorators sued for not delivering a meal on time.

LAHORE: A consumer court has set November 12 for preliminary arguments in a suit against New Pak Caterers and Party Decorators for not delivering a meal on time at a valima. Petitioner Kashif Yaseen told the court that he had placed an order with Aslam Bawarchi at Allama Iqbal Town. He said he had asked for 23 degs to be delivered at 6:30pm to Khan Marriage Hall in Shahdra.He had reminded the catering company of the 10pm wedding curfew. He said the catering company had assured him that the food would be delivered on time. Yaseen said at 11pm the food had still not arrived. He said after most guests had left, the catering company finally delivered the food. He said his valima had been ruined by the company’s negligence. He asked the court to direct the respondent to pay Rs700,000 damages.Talking to The Express Tribune, Aslam Bawarchi rejected the claims of the petitioner. He said the food had been delivered on time and that he would fight the lawsuit.
