Trade factor: Look eastward, entrepreneurs advised

Khalid termed Pak-China Economic corridor a historic long-term project of cooperation between the countries

ISLAMABAD: While addressing a two day international workshop on “Doing Business with China”, President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) Shaban Khalid stressed that Pakistan will be playing a central role in promoting trade and exports to the huge markets in Asia. Khalid said Pakistani entrepreneurs need to reorient their focus from West to East and balance their approach based on the future potential for business in the East. He said the government should urgently take up measures to address unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles, corruption, lack of good governance, energy and all other issues to facilitate business activities. Khalid termed Pak-China Economic corridor a historic long-term project of cooperation between the countries and hoped that it will create greater economic growth for Pakistan.
