Festival speech: ‘Govt making efforts for minorities’

Fed Minister for Water and Power Asif said all minorities were equal citizens of the country.

SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that the PML-N government was making effective and positive efforts to end social deprivation of minorities and ensure protection of their rights. He was addressing a meeting of the local Hindu community at Jogndernath Temple on Paris Road in connection with the Hindu festival Diwali. The minister said that minorities had been enjoying complete religious freedom and have been playing their role in national peace, prosperity ad development. He said all minorities were equal citizens of the country. Earlier, the federal minister also cut a Diwali cake.
